Show Notes

A year in Hawaii inspired a song that wouldn’t be released for another 24 years.

Josh Lindsey joins Chris Estes to share the story behind “Alabama Road,” a song born after returning home to Alabama following a year living in Hawaii. What began as a campfire favorite eventually found its way into the Hatch Music Accelerator, where it was transformed into a professionally produced recording.

Josh discusses songwriting, working with producer Dave Denton, developing a release strategy, and why independent artists need more than great songs to build a successful music career.

You’ll also hear an exclusive preview of “Alabama Road” before its official release.
