Thursday night, something special happened at 314 Magnolia Avenue. What started as an experiment in connecting real business challenges with talented problem-solvers turned into a watershed moment for Gulf Coast innovation. With over 150 attendees packing the room and 23 teams presenting polished solutions—including three impressive high school teams—our inaugural Hatch-a-thon Demo Night proved that meaningful innovation doesn’t require a Silicon Valley zip code.
Less than 24 hours after Demo Night concluded, one of our challenge sponsors signed a development contract with their chosen solution team. We’re not talking about prototypes gathering dust or ideas that never leave the drawing board. We’re talking about real solutions being implemented by real businesses, creating real value for our community. This immediate business impact validates everything we believed about giving teams two weeks instead of 48 hours to build quality solutions.
The energy in the room was electric as teams tackled challenges across tourism, healthcare, finance, and operations. Challenge sponsors Brian Harris (Harris Vacations) and Joshua Goodin (Konetiq) were visibly impressed by the creativity and professionalism on display, while supporting sponsors like C2 Wealth Management celebrated the emergence of a true innovation ecosystem on the Gulf Coast. From high school students presenting alongside seasoned developers to business leaders actively negotiating implementations, Demo Night showcased the best of what happens when a community comes together to solve problems.
Mark your calendars: The next Hatch-a-thon kicks off January 15, 2026, with Demo Night on January 29.
