SAN CARLOS, Calif. — [Dana Point, CA and Fairhope, AL] – Today at LSI USA ‘24, an annual event for emerging medtech, Bessel, a leading service provider for the rapid innovation of medtech solutions, announced Hatch Powered by Bessel. This startup incubator combines the passion of startup founders, the guidance of seasoned medical device experts, and the burgeoning startup ecosystem and investment in Alabama. This intensive 10-week program will kick off in Fairhope, Alabama in summer 2024. Applications are open now.

What is Hatch Powered by Bessel™?

Hatch Powered by Bessel is an accelerator program that empowers medtech startups to deliver breakthroughs that scale. The 10-week hybrid cohort-based program includes in-person kickoff and finale events in Fairhope, AL. Startups will receive expert guidance from industry mentors and advisors and participate in the Powered by Bessel program developed by Chris Danek, a veteran of the life sciences industry.

The program aims to equip medtech startups to create sustainable and scalable innovations—breakthroughs that scale—and to give founders the entrepreneurial resource ecosystem they need for long-term success. Powered by Bessel participant Lloyd Cooper, co-founder of Fulmer Instruments, a startup based in Birmingham, AL, says, “Bessel helped us make decisions faster. With Bessel’s support, we could immediately start acting on our needs and move our concept forward.”

Participating startups will be given a small stipend to offset travel expenses and may be offered funding by Hatch Fairhope at the conclusion of the cohort.
